Rather than create connection between Gänserndorf and Gänserndorf Süd, we decided to focus on the later: to give the south more of an urban quality. Post oil Gänserndorf is a Gänserndorf at the height of technical innovation. The end of Oil doesn’t mean „back to nature“ and „simple living“ with less mobility. Post oil Gänserndorf isn’t a romanticised Gänserndorf, rather a city that reminds us of science fiction films. Rather than a dystopia, as in films such as Blade Runner, the future of Gänserndorf is quite the opposite, a thought out concept with space to grow. The quality of life in Post Oil Gänserndorf isn’t due to the use of technology, rather more through a new, thought out concept for urban living.
