The monolith is set upon a floor of the same material and color as if it grows from out of the stage floor. With this minimalist stage design we succesfully created 4 unique worlds which allowed and asked the audience to fill in the blanks with their imagination. As if they were an insect in their own terrarium, with predefined objects in front of them. From a bedroom in an apartment building which is dead set on breaking out of the building,
a kitchen which grows itself a new room, to the atelier of a famous poet, all these worlds came to life with the help of this stage.
Pulling back to my passion and skills within graphic design I created the title credits for the filmed version of the production This required finding a perfect balance and representation of the tone of the piece. Designing my own fon for the Title proved necessary in order to show the oddities of the piece which are contrasted by the warmt and poesie of Gert Jonke.
